Tips for a defender? In soccer, 10 points to anyone with good advise!! :)?

im a soccer player... i play forward, mid, and defense.... i like being on the side...... instead of just kicking the ball out.. if you are clear take it up to mid field so u can open up the field, and that way when u lose the ball u have enough time to get back and cover that forward... so a right defense or a left defense are also like mid fielders becuase u r on the wing and the wing supose to go up not just stay at defense and doesnt have to kick the ball out every time she steals the ball.. take it up and see who is open so u can make a good play and score
