What is your take on "The Secret", The Law of Attraction, etc.?

No 1800-3000 year old Bible verses or proselytizing, please. I would like to hear from people who have seen or read about it and given thought to their answers. I would also like to point out that this is not about a god, a cult or a religion, so we can nip that group in the bud as well.
