Prom Hairstyles?

Hello everyone! Im a junior in high school and i got invited to prom this year. I have everything but what Im gona do with my hair. I plan on getting really nice braids, but that's it. I'm african american, with an oval face, and the dress is a long, purple halter dress with a silver broach. It's gorgeous but the hair must complete it. Please help!! I also need make up tips as well. It's less than two weeks away now... on the 26th so I need help! Thank you in advance!
