Where could I find a grammar handbook?

Is there a handbook or novel or something that explains and gives examples of things like nouns, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs, etc. I don't want a big, bulky literature textbook but was wondering if there was a dictionary/thesaurus type book for pure grammar references, extra help, or just to study?
